Outdoor furniture inspection china
A practical guide to outdoor furniture inspection china: what to check on site, what a photograph cannot establish, and what to write in your purchase specification.
Furniture export orders fail in category-specific ways. A generic pre-shipment checklist will miss all of them. This is what the checks actually cover.
What the check covers
- Model and SKU against your PI, on every unit and every carton
- Count and mix — mixed-model orders counted per model, not as a single total
- Carton marks and order numbers, photographed
- Dimensions against your stated figure, including functional dimensions
- Materials against your agreed specification or approved sample
- Physical checks that can be performed on site with portable equipment
- Packing — carton count, protection, hardware pack completeness
Physical checks on site
Wobble and stability; load with calibrated weights; carton drop; drawer and hardware function; assembly by a non-skilled operator; moisture, foam density and odour.
What is not covered
Product testing of any kind. Accredited laboratory reports. Formaldehyde, fire resistance, abrasion, salt spray and UV. Those require laboratories, and outdoor furniture verification explains why pretending otherwise damages trust rather than building it.
How to book it
Send your PI, your agreed specification and your approved sample if you have one. If you only have a product link, send that — the check criteria can be built from it, and the report will record that conformity could not be fully verified.

Common questions
What should my purchase specification contain?
Model and quantity, dimensions with tolerance, materials named rather than described generically, colour standard with a grey scale value, and any standard the goods must meet.
How early should verification happen before shipment?
After production is substantially complete but before the container is sealed. Earlier and there is nothing to inspect; later and the remedy is to unload in China rather than in your own country.
What does AQL mean in furniture inspection?
AQL is the Acceptable Quality Limit under ISO 2859-1 — the quality threshold used to accept or reject a sampled lot. It is an input to a decision, not a statement about how good the goods are.
Verifying a furniture order?
We check your goods at the factory against your PI, your agreed specification and your approved sample. Three levels, published prices, report within 24 hours.
